Dear Fellow BSBCCA Members,

The following summary of the February 19, 2008  Board Meeting was approved at the Board meeting of March 11, 2008

  1. The President reported that as of this meeting our lawyers had filed suit in Federal District Court challenging the Declaration of Units by the Developer in which it declared 136 lockers in the former Sales Office as Tray Units.  The Developer has not yet answered the suit, but his Attorneys have contacted us and have indicated a willingness to discuss a possible settlement.
  2. The Board reached a decision on the color scheme for painting the facility.  It was decided to paint the building a light gray with white trim and blue doors.
  3. The Board decided that before the facility was painted, all flower boxes under the windows would be removed and the area behind the boxes would be re-shingled.  The flower boxes as they are now constructed are causing excessive rotting and it was decided that it made no sense just to paint over them.
  4. The Board discussed at length the current system in place for voucher guest passes and membership parking stickers and decided not to make any changes for the coming season.  The Board directed the staff to be more diligent in checking registrations and affixing the sticker to the vehicle.
  5. A lengthy discussion ensued concerning the raising of prices for guest passes.  It was ultimately decided to leave prices as they are for the coming season.
  6. As a way of exercising more control over the guest population, the Board decided that for the coming season on weekends and holidays, guests will only be allowed when accompanied by a member.
  7. Discussion ensued concerning the long lines that form at the gate on busy days.  The Board directed the General Manager and staff to look into various plans to alleviate the back up.  One of the possibilities is to develop a “members only” lane.
  8. With regard to guest parking, the Board decided that all guest cars would be given a parking stub to display on the dashboard after paying the guest parking fee.
  9. The General Manager updated the Board on his progress in securing a vendor to install surveillance cameras at strategic locations throughout the facility.  After hearing some of the costs involved, it was decided to scale down the project from the original plan.

Respectfully submitted,
BSBCCA Board of Directors
